Rendezvous Trails
Many trails lead from wherever you may be to Bozeman. But seriously, this picture is a joke. You really can't get from there to here by stagecoach anymore. We have taken pains to let people know this fact since being asked by a gas station attendant in Los Angeles once after he had glanced at our license plate, "Montana. Wow! Is that in the United States?" We also do actually have airports, and a few of our Montana roads are paved, too.
By Air
Yellowstone-Bozeman International Airport is served by these airlines: Alaska, Allegiant, American, Delta, Frontier, and, at the very end in both esteem and alphabetic order—United (OK, if you book with them and are confined to the baggage department and treated by the handlers as they would would a priceless cello by playing ultimate Frisbee with it from terminal to airplane, don't blame us). Some have extended service, others have restricted service, and the last one, although it flies, is claimed to have no service at all (actually, folks, you may be able to get a good price for your ticket on that airline right now for some obscure reason).
Upon landing you will find yourself in one of the most attractive airports in the US. But remember, this is Bozeman, population around 45,000. We have a few Uber drivers, 2.5 to be exact, one who is a family friend. There are two or three taxis. Some motels have a pickup and delivery service (check their websites on the Bedroll page). If you get stuck, just give us a call at 406-599-6703. Ask for Rocky or Lorie.
By Land
Seriously, we repeat, no, you really can't get from there to here by stagecoach anymore.
But driving should be easy. Interstate 90 runs through town. Yes, Greyhound comes through, but that may not be a good choice. And yes, numerous trains pass through here every day. Unfortunately, none are passenger trains. You would have to hop atop a pile of coal in an open car as it slows down for a curve on one of these trains headed from eastern Montana to the Pacific coast where its cargo will be offloaded onto ships destined for China and reloaded with just about everything we buy in our stores for the trip back. And driving, if you have the time and have not been up this way before, could actually make a memorable vacation. (Hmmm. Aren't there movies about Christmas vacations and summer vacations that could help you envision just how much fun such a trip could be?)
By Sea
If you were planning on this alternative, you might find it helpful to renew your knowledge of the geography of the United States before booking a cruise this direction, even if you do find someone who is willing to give you a really, really good deal on tickets.
Once you are Here
Dismount and enjoy the stay. Read the rest of this website for things you can do before and/or after the Rendezvous.
