Evening Fare
For its size Bozeman offers many types of local and ethnic fare of the kinds that can be found almost anywhere else. Therefore, as was true of our breakfast recommendations, we will recommend only two restaurants, primarily for their fine food coupled with a distinct western/Montana orientation in spite of their quirky names. One must drive a few miles to reach these two restaurants, but the drive is worth it.
- Land of Magic—Located in a very small, dilapidated, and neglected community with a couple of gravel streets and no stores whatsoever, you will enjoy an unfeigned Montana experience and outstanding fare as you mix with locals who come from afar for a special evening out. You will find this place just off Interstate 90 about 25 miles northwest of Bozeman. Reserving ahead is strongly advised. (Click on the Land of Magic name to view its website.)
Land of Magic Steakhouse Bar
Logan, MT - Sir Scott's Oasis Steakhouse & Lounge—Located in Manhattan, 20 miles to the northwest from Bozeman, this is a very old establishment doesn't even have a website, and doesn't need one. It is also a favorite of locals. Jump onto Interstate 90 heading west (northwest, actually), take the Manhattan exit, head north into town, take a left (west) at the 4-way stop. The Oasis will be on your left. Call ahead to see if reservations are taken: 406-284-6929.
